PEHT- International Outreach

The Project to End Human Trafficking Baltimore Division's intern D'Nise Kaalund made a human-trafficking presentation before over 100 residents for the International Youth Conference at the Colon Chamber of Commerce in Panama on June 3, 2011.

D'Nise highlighted the awful risks victims encounter and the dangers to which they are exposed, such as slave work and poor health. Stress was given to local alternatives residents can utillize to avoid and eventually eliminate human trafficking.  The presentation was well received and followed with a networking session of encouragement and t-shirt giveaways.  Panama We Care Organization plans on continuing community outreach to encourage residents to seek alternatives to being victims.
